Automated Notifications let administrators start or stop system-generated messages triggered by SIS data imports — district admins control all schools, while school admins manage their own.
💡Quick answers
- What are automated notifications? Messages automatically sent when imported SIS data meets a trigger condition, such as a student receiving a low grade.
- Who can manage automated notifications? District administrators for all schools; school administrators for their own school only.
- Where do I configure these settings? Settings > Organization Config in Communications HQ, then select your organization and open Automated Notification settings.
- Can I pause notifications during summer break? Yes, many districts disable automated notifications over summer and re-enable them at the start of the school year.
Use your imports to trigger messages!
Administrators can use the Automated Notifications tool to stop/start automated notification messages.
When your district and schools import data from their Student Information Systems (SIS), you can set notifications to be sent out based on the information received. For example, when grades are imported, and a student receives a low grade, you can send an automatic message to the parent.
District administrators can control all schools and a school administrator can control their own school. Many districts disable messages during summer break and then start them again when the new year starts.
