System Admins with Super User permission level in Connect have elevated access to reset passwords for users who are locked out, even on behalf of other admins.
Here's how to quickly identify and assist those users.
Step 1: Identify locked accounts
- Navigate to Admin tab > Users in left navigation.
- In the Status column, look for users marked Account Locked
- Hover over the user you'd like to reset and click the eye icon to the right of the user’s name to open their profile.
Step 2: Confirm status is AccountLocked
- Confirm the status is AccountLocked for this user.
Step 3: Reset the user's password
- Click the reset password link just next to the Connect Username field, This opens the password reset window.
- If the user has already been fully set up in the system, you do not need to check the box next to Send Welcome Message. That step is only necessary for first-time setup.
Best practice
After resetting the password manually, be sure to retain and securely provide the new credentials to the user. Instruct the user to immediately go and create a new password.
- If you also choose to Clear User Profile, this will only clear the password and security questions. It does not remove the user’s account or data.
Step 4: Click Save
Click Save once you are ready to save the new credentials.
